The novel : Pygmalion

 Pygmalion
by George Bernard Shaw

Brief Explanation with reference to the content of the following :

                           Act : - I

"Remember that you are a human being with a soul and the divine gift of articulate speech : that you native language is the langue of Shakespeare and Milton and the Bible : and not sit there crooning like a billion pigeon".

> These lines have been taken the drama Pygmalion written by G. B. Shaw. Professor Higgins who is in search of a suitable candidate for teaching the act of pronounciation looks act Eliza, waken her desire for rea..... and changed her. He thinks that the girl has potentiality to be a duchess.

At first Eliza  appears to be happy with job of selling flower she says that she is right to sell flower. Professor Higgins to makes understand that she is a human being with a divine gift life force. She wants she can transformed herself into a Duchess. She knows how to speak current English. She can be proud of Shakespeare, Milton and Bible. it is all some up to her to be a great woman and remains a flower selling girl or uneducated girl by speaking in local dialect.

This statement of G.H. Show that every human being has a life force to be great provided that he or she is reading and willing. Higgins' teaches Eliza that if she is ready, she can be transformed into a duchess. The theme of life force is a common theme in all the play of G. B. Shaw. These lines are also important from the view point at characterization of both professor Higgins and Eliza Doolittle.

                     From Act -II

"I find that moment

I love myself make friend with a woman.

I become selfish tyrancial woman suspect everything,

When you late them into youth life,

You find that the woman is driving at one thing and you are driving at another.

 >> these lines have been spoken by professor higgins to whole speaking in the drama big billion written by GB Shaw. While describing the character of women, professor Higgins does not have a good concept he thinks that women upset everything.

In this line professor hai games refuse to be friendly with a woman charging her to be a jealous and suspicious. He refuses to marry because he thinks that he can do this duty properly in the company of women.

The moment of women comes in the life of man there is is more confusion than solution a woman as a wife drives in one direction and a man raps at another beside a man become selfish and tyrinical.

In this line the conception of profession Higgins about a woman is based. Professor higgins shows his on limitation rather than the limitation of women. Hence, in the lines professor higgins expresses his own character.

                  From Act -III

''But you have no idea how written fully interesting if if is to make a human being and changed her into a weight difference human being by creating a new a speech for her. It's feeling of the respect gulf that separates class from class and soul from soul''.

>>> These lines have been taken from professor again to his mother Mrs higgins is explaining his is serious job of teaching in Pygmalion. Mrs. Higgins does not understand what her son wants to do with Eliza. She is simply playing with her.

In these line professor higgins experience his job of education which is the central theme of pygmalion also. He says to transform a human being teaching which is not game it is very serious affair to take a human being and changed him into a different human being by teaching art of pronunciation. Speech create a great gap between man and man and class and class.

                          From Act - V

"The great secret Eliza is not having bad manner or good manner or any other particulars short of minor for all humans soul : In short behaving as if were in heaven where there are no third class carriage and once all is as good as another".

>>>> These lines have been taken from pygmalion drama at idea written by GB Shaw. after the education of Eliza is over professor higgins warns her to go anywhere else reports and it angry with professor higgins for using her age and object of experience cannot go back to where Shaw used to sell flower.

In the given line professor Higgins describes himself as a teacher for who's for his student where boys and girls are the same. To him a successful man is he whose behaviour is the same with everybody. Professor Higgins explains the theme of socialism which is also a popular theme in the drama of GB Shaw.

these lines are important from the viewpoint of subject matter and characterisation. professor hidden is a masterpiece. He explains the philosophy of socialism. Recording to him all human being are equal. equality means that there is no third class career and one man is as good as another. this lens is also important on the character of professor Higgins who is a professional teacher and he is never emotional attached with his a student. He is not pygmalion in the great legends where the the sculptors married his on creation. Professor Higgins is a teacher whose duty is only that teacher student and not be attached with his student.
